Students line up to speak

WARWICK Toastmasters has started the fiscal year with a Youth Leadership course at SCOTS Collage.

Five students, Sarah Bradfield, Kate-e Worth, Jasmine Whitten, Sarah Burke and Frazer Peterson, took the opportunity to enhance their skills in preparation for the Year 10 and Year 12 exams ahead.
The course over six weeks sets an agenda for the students to improve their communication skills, speak for some minutes on chosen and impromptu subjects, as well as learning to assess each others success.
Lead by Toastmasters Patricia Metcalf, Brian Rilstone and Peter Maughn, the afternoon sessions have had enough informality to create quite a lot of hilarity and rivalry among the participants.
At the same time they help produce budding eloquence which will surely assist these young people the years ahead.
Warwick Toastmasters meetings are open to all interested people over 18 years and are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the library meeting rooms from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
