Seven candidates running

A TOTAL of seven candidates will contest the 2013 federal election in the federal electoral division of Maranoa.
Divisional Returning Officer for Maranoa, Vicki Kapernick said these candidates were among1188 candidates running for the 150 House of Representatives seats across Australia, with an additional 529 candidates running for the 40 senate vacancies.
“A full list of the candidates running in the 2013 federal election is available on the AEC website at www.aec.gov.au,” she said.
The candidate nominations were officially declared at 12 noon Friday 16 August at public events held around Australia, followed by a draw for ballot paper positions.
Ms Kapernick said the printing of the ballot papers would now start, with early voting to commence in the coming week. Early voting will start in Dalby on 20 August and elsewhere in the division of Maranoa from 26 August.
Listed below are the candidates for the electoral division of Maranoa in the order they will appear on the ballot paper.
1. SPELLMAN, John – Family First
2. CEDRIC-THOMPSON, Nick – Australian Labor Party
3. NEWSON, Grant – The Greens
4. SCOTT, Bruce – Liberal National Party of Queensland
5. CLOUSTON, George Mousley – Rise Up Australia Party
6. BJELKE-PETERSEN, John – Palmer United Party
7. WALTON, Rowell – Katter’s Australia Party
