Karara fatality makes three

A 34-YEAR-OLD Goondiwindi woman died in a car crash when her vehicle collided with a tree and burst into flames after she veered off the road at Karara on Tuesday morning.
The woman’s death occurred during a horror week on the roads across the Southern Downs.
The car burst into flames and engulfed the driver while the male passenger was able to pull himself from the wreckage with only seconds to spare.
The fiery crash occurred on the Cunningham Highway about 52km west of Warwick at 1.20am.
A Warwick paramedic, who was at the scene, said a 38-year-old Goondiwindi man, a passenger in the car, managed to pull himself from the car, which was on fire.
The man r received burns to his back and cuts to his face and was transported to the Inglewood Hospital, before an RACQ Careflight transported him to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the accident and have made an appeal for any witnesses.
