Excell Solar helps our rural firefighters

DALVEEN Rural Fire Brigade were the recent recipients of two solar panels donated by Toowoomba Company Excell Solar.

Excell Solar Pty Ltd is a Toowoomba-based Australian company that supplies, sells and installs solar grid-based power connection systems for residential, commercial and industrial projects across South East Queensland.
They are a multi-skilled, clean energy company that applies technology and solar science to design and install the perfect solar system for customers.
The donation was made after brigade members approached the company, and requested solar panels to construct a battery back-up system for their radio communications.
Excell Solar happily agreed to donate the panels, and supplied all the necessary hardware at no cost.
Earlier in the year, the brigade hosted the Dalveen RFB Backburners Ball in an attempt to raise funds for the construction of a training facility, and toilet and shower complex at their current shed. This facility will also act as an incident control centre in the event of a local wildfire.
First officer Jim Mitchell said the solar panels from Excell Solar, and future purchase of back-up batteries, would allow radio communications to be maintained from the shed in the event of a power outage, ensuring fire-fighter safety.
“Dalveen Rural Fire Brigade would like to once again like to thank Excell Solar for its generosity,” Mr Mitchell said.
