The Southern Downs Regional Council says the region is set to become South East Queensland’s “next major growth area”, with the launch of the first phase of the council’s new investment and business attraction campaign – ‘Invest Southern Downs’.
The council says Invest Southern Downs “supports its broader efforts to attract more residents to the region”.
“Over the next three years, the Southern Downs will welcome more than 1000 new jobs across a range of industries,” a council spokeswoman said.
“The council is working closely with new and expanding businesses, which are looking to establish themselves or expand in the region to ensure their long-term success and sustainability and to grow the region’s economy,” she said.
“Invest Southern Downs will deliver a range of economic benefits to the region including increasing the number of jobs in the region, opportunity for growth in the region’s existing sectors and driving new business and the production of goods and services.
“In recent weeks the council has launched its new Invest Southern Downs video and Life on the Southern Downs brochure, the first of a long line-up of marketing activities planned as a part of the campaign.
“The new video is just some of the refreshed content planned for an update and relaunch of the current Invest Southern Downs website.”
