Miss Rodeo Australia 2018 crowned in Warwick

2016 Warwick Rodeo Queen Ashleigh Grant was Miss Rodeo Australia 2018 overall runner-up.

Dakota Michaelis from Peterborough in South Australia was crowned Miss Rodeo Australia 2018 at a gala function at Warwick’s Rodeo Heritage Centre last Saturday evening.
Dakota was part of a field of six quest entrants, including Warwick’s 2016 Rodeo Queen Ashleigh Grant, who was named overall runner-up and fundraising category winner.
Other rodeo queens who lined up for a shot at Miss Rodeo Australia 2018 included Nicole Evans from Millmerran, Tammie Conroy of Taroom, Nikea Coulson from Kooralbyn and Cloncurry’s Kate Taylor.
Dakota takes the crown from 2017 Miss Rodeo Australia Emma Deicke.
Criteria on which entrants are judged include horsemanship, presentation and public speaking.
