Carols to usher in season

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and Christmas will officially arrive on the Southern Downs this week when the community comes together to celebrate the festive season with council’s annual Carols in the Park.
Stanthorpe residents are set for a special evening of carols under the stars at Weeroona Park on Friday 8 December. Local talent will take to the stage to entertain the crowd with an exciting line-up of Christmas songs and old favourites from 6.30pm.
Warwick is also set for a night of wonderful entertainment this Sunday, 10 December, thanks to support from Creed and Lang, Southern Downs Automotive and Warwick Credit Union.
Aimee Liesegang, Kristy Searson, The Fern Brothers, Emma Bell, Chapter 3 and trio Keely, Tegan and Erin Hilton will take centre stage at Leslie Park from 4.30pm to sing their way through a full program of both traditional and up-beat carols. Warwick City Band and Warwick Choral Society will warm up the crowd when they perform prior to the main stage program.
Kids will delight in face painting and should come decked out in their snazziest Christmas inspired outfit because there are plenty of best-dressed prizes up for grabs!
The man himself, Santa Claus, will take time out of his busy schedule for Carols in the Park, dropping in to both Stanthorpe and Warwick to visit the community.
A great night out for the whole family, there will be plenty of food and drink available at the alcohol free, family event, so grab a picnic blanket, settle in and make a night of it.
