The Free Times’ very own sports columnist Casey O’Connor has been selected as a volunteer for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Casey is one of a small handful of locals to be heading to the Games next April.
Around 50,000 people applied to be volunteers at next year’s Games, with some 3500 ultimately successful, after an application process including face-to-face interviews with Games officials back in June.
Casey said he was “stoked” to be chosen and understands his duties will involve transport in and around the Games Village.
A big congrats to Casey for being hand-picked to be a part of this huge international sporting event.
