Get-together for probus clubs

Luncheon is part of the interclub friendship day.

Probus members from Beaudesert, Warwick Combined, Warwick Rose City, Stanthorpe and Tenterfield clubs met together for the second annual Interclub Friendship Day which included a luncheon at the Stanthorpe RSL club function room.
The day was ably organised by presidents meeting together and working out the program for the event.
Members of four Probus clubs provided entertainment during the morning; Stanthorpe Club choir led the way in song which included the Probus song.
This was followed by “Two Little Girls in Blue”, from Beaudesert club entertaining members in song and suitably dressed, some with blonde wigs.
Just before the meal was served, Warwick Combined Choir gave the group their rendition of “Melodies from My Fair Lady”; again choir members were dressed for the part in period costume and made a grand entrance at the commencement of their contribution to the program.
Angelo Puglisi, a locally well-known Granite Belt Ambassador and wine grower, is also known as the “Father of Queensland Wine Industry”. He gave an enlightening speech about his family’s involvement in the wine industry since 1930, and how they have progressively developed their own particular wines.
Following an excellent meal, guest speaker Sara Hale, general manager of Brisbane Wellcamp Airport Toowoomba told the story of the development of the airport.
The lucky door prize for the day was a return trip for two to Melbourne plus accommodation courtesy of Wellcamp airport and Trade Travel. This was won by Probus members Carol and John Morrison from Stanthorpe.
