Liston garden opens

THIRTY years ago Michelle Burton raided neighbours’ and friends’ gardens for cuttings, garden clubs were prevailed upon, tube stock found and clumps divided.
These days Pine View at Liston is a mature garden of five acres, full of shade areas, mature trees and water features.
It’s better known to locals as the agapanthus garden for its acre of the plants, but it also features hydrangeas, red hot pokers and hippeastrums.
Ms Burton will again open her garden for charity throughout January, this time to benefit cerebral palsy sufferer Blake Zorzi and his family.
Blake is an extreme care 11-year-old and the money raised will help his family support him to be able to live his life to the maximum.
As Blake gets older his needs are upgraded to different equipment required to live a relatively normal life.
There are lots of seats around the garden, so come and sit among the trees or verandah and enjoy the bird life and the peace and tranquillity of this garden. There is access to all parts of the garden for wheelchairs and prams.
Pine View will be open from 9am to 5pm (Queensland time) on 10-12 January and 17-19 January – Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Entry in only $5. Morning and afternoon tea is available. For more details please phone Michelle on 46861249
