THE tranquillity of olive groves overlooking stunning views of Coolmunda Dam provided a wonderful setting for the first “Grooving in the Grove” musical event near Inglewood on Boxing Day.
Dr Colin Owen and his wife Gesine invited a large number of family and friends to their property “Nunyara”, 19km east of Inglewood, to be entertained by a talented musical duo Peter and Julie from Nobby. Peter (flute, saxophone and vocal) and Julie ( acoustic and electric guitar and vocal) played a wide range of music covering many genres including jazz, swing, rock, Latin and classical to an appreciative audience.
“Nunyara” is home to the renowned Coolmunda Olive Grove established in 1998. It boasts 7000 flourishing olive trees and the latest equipment to process the organic olives and olive oil.
In April 2013, Coolmiunda Olives was awarded first place in the organic olive section at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Mrs Owen said the Boxing Day event had been received with enthusiasm by guests, and plans are under way to stage similar events at “Nunyara”.
Mrs Owen said future patrons to “Grooving in the Grove” would also be able to taste-test the wide variety of olives and olive products produced on the property.
