Tenterfield Veteran Golfers

TUESDAY 15 October, 37 veterans played a single stableford event in fine sunny conditions. John Augustson returned to the winning list scoring 41 points winning the daily trophy from runner-up John Milton 40 points on a four-way countback. Ball downs the line to Ken Hines, Pamela Brown and Terry Kneipp all 40; Peter Brown and Karen Manser 39; Don Iedema and David White 38 and Neil Gale 37 on a countback. Best front nine, Garry Nicholls 19 on a countback; Best back nine, Ian Wade 21 on a countback; Mystery hole, 16th, Don Iedema with a four-pointer (six balls); 18th Pam Brown (60cm) great shot Pam; and captain’s draw, Eric Butler. Welcome back to Alan Hartley and Loh Ai Tee after a 12-month absence. Also treasurer Denis Hull back playing after his operation.
A successful October Veterans Week of Golf was achieved with many compliments received by the committee. Thank you to all volunteers for your time and efforts.
Veteran’s golf on Tuesday 5 November has been postponed to Thursday 7 November. Melbourne Cup day will see a stableford sweepstake event at 9.30am with lunch and entertainment to follow at your discretion.
Nominations for the Tenterfield Veterans open day on 19 November to the Veterans captain ASAP. Veterans Christmas Dinner Party is scheduled for Tuesday 26 November, at 6.30pm for 7pm sit down.
