Strange bird on the Condamine

NO wonder it’s squawking – it’s a long way from home, a probably lonely.
It is certainly is an odd bird to see sitting in a eucalypt on the banks of the Condamine in Warwick.
A check on several Australian bird books couldn’t identify this long-tailed parrot and it was finally up to Birds In Backyards to tell us it was an Indian Ringneck Parrot.
Most likely it’s an escapee from an aviary, so if anyone knows any more about how this Indian native came to be squawking up a gum tree, please let us know at the Southern Free Times. 108641. Picture: STEVE GRAY
