Tenterfield Veteran Golfers

ON TUESDAY 1 October, 39 veteran’s plus two invited juniors played a single Stableford event in fine but windy conditions.
Family rivalries were put to the test with Vet’s captain John Gale scoring 45pts to win the NSW Monthly Veteran’s winner shirt from runner-up daughter-in-law Julie Gale with an impressive 44pts. The winner had three birdie chip-ins. Balls down the line went to; Gary Sutcliffe 43pts, Michael Manser 40pts, Karen Manser 39pts, with Don Iedema, Neil Gale, John Augustson, Lesleigh Milton and Greg Yap all on 38pts. Best front nine went to Ruby Gale with 21pts while best back nine went to Bill Schultz with 19pts. The 18th pin shot was Graeme Moore’s, the mystery hole (2nd) John Gower with a four-pointer, and the captains draw went to John Milton.
Normal fixtures return on Tuesday 15 October.
The Tenterfield Veteran’s Open Day in conjunction with the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Charity Day is scheduled for Tuesday 19 November.
Secretary Ted Hartfield has had a spell in hospital but will soon be back on the course, the Tenterfield Veterans wish him well.
