TENTERFIELD VETERAN GOLFERS
TENTERFIELD Veteran’s game was played on Thursday 5 September due to spring renovation of the greens. A field of 36 players contested the Single Stableford event in perfect playing conditions. Recent new member Tony Hassall had a red-hot round of 45pts to secure the win from Pamela Brown 44pts on a count-back. Well played Tony, the handicapper has pounced and reduced your handicap by four! Great game Pamela your turn is coming.
Balls down the line went to; Michael Manser 44, Frank Moore 43, Rob Murphy 42, Graeme Moore, Ashley Harrison, Peter Mustoo 40 and Heather Gower 39.
Nearest the pin on the 18th was Gary Sutcliffe (67cm).
Best front nine was Ruby Gale 24 and best back nine Gary Sutcliffe with 21.
Mystery hole (11th) squared with 4 pointers and Captain’s draw June Williams.

This Saturday (14 Sept) will be the Gladfield boy’s day. Social bowlers are also very welcome to come along and enjoy a great afternoon of bowls. Names in by 1pm for 1.30 play.
The monthly Turkey Triples will be played Wednesday starting at 12.30pm.
The next lot of competition games will be called up on Sunday (22 Sept). Check next week’s notes. Bowlers a reminder that our annual fees are due and it would be appreciated if these could all be in by the end of September.

Last Thursday ten ladies competed for the Canning Brooch and the winner was C. Hope on 25pts.

RSL SOCIAL BOWLS CLUB
Lovely morning on Sunday although it did start to warm up towards the end of the game with enough players for a game of pairs with Dos, Ray and Margaret sharing ends in the game. The teams were I. Wright, B. Buckel and D. Rock, E. Osborne. The scores of the morning were D. Rock and E. Osborne 19 d I.Wright and B. Buckel. Conditions of play were ‘highest winning margin’ which was won by D. Rock and E. Osborne, the jackpot still did not go off and is building to a nice little nest egg. Fun and laughter was had by all even though someone was a little sleep deprived.
There will be bowls this Sunday. New starting time for summer will commence from this Sunday, names in by 8.30am and games to start at 9am. All Bowlers welcome to come and have a game of Bowls.

SOUTHERN DOWNS RIFLE CLUB
SUNDAY, 8 September, the club had a great roll up of 21 shooters for the 400 yard range, the morning started out calm however as it progressed the conditions became more difficult – as some of the shooters found.
The scores for the Peep Sight (Iron Sight) contestants out of a possible 105 were; Rob Bondfield 103.15, Jim Dickenson 103.8, Bob Abood 101.8, Jamie Marshall 100.5, Chris Neave 95.5 and Rob Wardrop 92.1.
The Scores for the Scope Class contestants out of a possible 125 in F Standard were; Beth Caskey 121.7, David Taylor 119.7, Les Pedersen 119.6, Paul Findlay 116.3, Darryl Reck 114.6, Noel Hildred 114.4, Barry Rusell 112.5, Margaret Taylor 111.3, Bob Tyllyer 110.6, David Norman 109.4, Graham Eagle 107.3, Carl Read 106, Paul Reid 89 and George Stevens 64.
The Score for the only F Open was Murray Reck 117.5.
This Sunday the club will be attending the 500 yard range. Come along and try Long-Range Target Shooting for a sport, you will find it most interesting and meet some great people who are only too happy to assist you.

WARWICK BOWLS CLUB
DURING the week a quarter- final game was played in the C/S Triples between T. Seaniger/M. Holder/I. Campbell and D. Neal/B. Black/J. Ruhle with Ian’s team winning 28-18.
The call up for this weekend will be for Jim Rickard’s team v Mick O’Leary’s team. Ian and Barry’s team can play if they wish.

First prize went to Peter Collis’ team with 19pts, the second prize to Les Meiklejohn’s team with 17pts and third prize to Joy Niven’s team on 16pts. A lucky shot by George Lynam won him a bottle of wine in the spider.
Looking ahead the club has Social and competition games on Saturday, Warwick Carnival sponsored by Warwick Credit Union and Oak Tree on Sunday, Club Meetings on Tuesday and KFC on Wed.
