RSL snatch minor premiership

By Casey O'Connor

After trailing Valleys on the leader board all season, RSL has come home with a wet sail to snatch the Stanthorpe Cricket Minor Premiership. South’s and Valleys will battle it out for the remaining spot in the finals.

RSL prevailed in a catch up game from round 15 on Friday night lights. RSL won the toss and elected to bat. Despite getting away to an excellent start and some good batting at the top of the order (Dowie 34; Garland 35 Brady 26) when the lights took effect the complexion of the game changed. RSL were all out it the last over for 145.

The 145 total looked a gettable ask for Wanderers however the loss of their openers who went cheaply made the task difficult. A steady fall of wickets followed with the only real resistance coming from Andrew Einam (41) Brock Patti (17) and Jamie Carnell (26). Wanderers all out for 118.
