The Warwick Cowboys galloped into the 2019 TRL A-Grade Grand Final last night – Sunday 25 August – at Toowoomba’s Clive Berghofer Stadium on the back of a sensational come-from-behind performance.

The Cowboys’ opponents Valleys Roosters held a commanding 18-4 lead at half time. Many were prepared to write the Cowboys off when the Roosters were the first to score in the second half, extending their lead to 24-4, and Valleys looked to have secured their place in the grand final.

A spirited comeback from the Cowboys was led by a Joe Fuimaono try five minutes into the second half. It opened the flood-gates as the Cowboys went on a try-scoring rampage, adding another three tries unanswered to snatch a 26-24 victory in one of the most thrilling semi-final clashes seen in many years.

The Cowboys now have a week off to prepare for the Grand Final on Sunday 8 September.

Wattles defeated the Dalby Diehards in a gruelling knock-out semi and now play Valleys in this Sunday’s Preliminary final, 1 September.

The winner will take their place alongside the Cowboys in the 2019 TRL Grand Final at Clive Berghofer Stadium.

Go you Cowboys!!
