Cowboys riding high

By Casey O'Connor

The Warwick Cowboys are riding high in the saddle after three rounds and lead the TRL Hutchies Builders A Grade premiership. It is only early doors but the Cowboys impressive form continued when they hosted Oakey and scored a 34-12 win at Fr Ranger Oval.

At the end of the first half the Cowboys held a 16-6 lead. The Cowboys scored the opening two tries before Oakey hit back when Dylan Haiijer scored. Harry Sullivan’s form has been excellent in the opening rounds and he scored the Cowboys third try before the half time break.

The second half was almost a repeat of the first with tries flowing to the Cowboys three to one as the solid Cowboy’s defence stifled the Bears attack. Ben Sullivan was again one of the best on ground for the Cowboys while Coedie Tandy proved a handful for the opposition.

The A Grade win wrapped up a good day for the Cowboys who also had a big wins in both the Reserve Grade (48-4) and Under 18 (60-10).

The Cowboys have a bye this weekend and next play on Anzac Day when they travel to Gatton to play the Hawks.
