Martial arts put to the test

MARTIAL arts students from Shiro Ryu Kan Martial Arts Dojo in Texas took part in the National All Styles Round 3 Karate Tournament at the Gold Coast on Sunday, 7 July.

Eight of the Texas-based students competed with some of the state’s best in a competition that continues to get tougher.
Shihan (instructor) Jason White watched over his students and give them tips from the side of the mats.
In their first ever competition Lachlan Mills and Ebony Priverta both achieved places.
The team will now train for Round 4 which takes place on 1 September and hope to qualify for State Titles in October.

Damien Prins – Third Point Sparring and third in Continuous Sparring;
Chloe Paganin – First in Point Sparring
Lachlan Mills – Second in Point Sparring
Sam Priverta – Third in Continuous Sparring
Ebony Priverta – First in Traditional Forms.
