Murder accused remanded in custody after court

A murder charge against a 30 year old man has been mentioned in the Warwick Magistrates Court today, Monday 6 April.

Benjamin James Nunns, 30, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of burglary and has been remanded in custody.

The matter was adjourned and has been listed for committal mention on Wednesday 1 July.

The charges were dealt with via teleconference in the courtroom this morning due to COVID-19 restrictions and Nunns was not present in the courtroom.

No bail application was made.

The charges relate to the fatal wounding of a 38 year old man in the early hours of Sunday morning at a residence on Glen Road in Warwick. Police allege the man died after being struck multiple times on the head with an object before sustaining a gunshot wound.

Police were called to the address at 4am on Sunday morning. Nunns was charged by police late on Sunday after being located elsewhere in the area during the afternoon.
