Mayor Tracy Dobie said the events are a way for residents to come together and remember that they are not alone during this drought.

“It is important for all of us to remember that we are part of a community that cares deeply for all of its members,” Cr Dobie said.

“The strength and endurance of this community, coupled with the deep well of compassion residents have for one another, are the building blocks that have kept the Southern Downs moving forward throughout this drought.

“Residents are asked to bring their own chairs to the Killarney and Warwick services as these will be held outdoors.

“If residents wish to make a donation to those struggling during these tough times, there will be the opportunity to do so.

“Funds will go to the Salvation Army for distribution.”
