A special general meeting of Warwick RSL Memorial Club members which was to have been held tomorrow night, Tuesday 15 January, has been cancelled.
A letter to members from current management committee president Geraldine O’Neill on display in the club’s foyer today states the committee has received legal advice that the meeting is against the club’s constitution and is not legal.
Ms O’Neill also states the committee is “100 per cent” behind her as president and that the club is “at a turning point in making a profit”.
She also names a number of members who were behind the push for the meeting, which was to have sought the resignation or removal of the current management committee, describing the calling of the meeting as a “disruption”.
