Winter Warmer events coming up

The Stanthorpe Share the Dignity charity recently approached a Brisbane-based charity group to see if was possible to either set up and host a local event or to get some much needed support, ideas and resources to be able to set up our own event.

Kylie Hibberd from Stanthorpe Share the Dignity was thrilled when she received news that the Hope Within Reach charity group jumped at the chance at the opportunity to bring the event to Stanthorpe themselves. A Warwick event was also quickly put onto the list as well.

These events are set up to provide a morale boost to local areas and to offer different resources such as warm winter clothing and blankets as well as grocery items and toiletries for free. There will also be a free barbecue throughout the afternoon, children’s activities and entertainment.

Stanthorpe has also now been given the honour of being the 2019 Queensland Launch of the Winter Warmers series of events throughout South East Queensland.

The Stanthorpe event will be held on Saturday 1 June from 2pm to 5pm at Kilpa Street Park. The Warwick event is on Sunday 2 June from 12pm to 2pm at Leslie Park. It is recommended that people bring their own picnic blankets and make an afternoon of it, as well as their own water for drinking, esky and bag and to collect free clothes and groceries and other items. There are several other projects currently in their planning stages so keep an eye out for any further updates and information.
