Christmas at Killarney this weekend

The Killarney Area Promotions Association (KAPA) was successful in obtaining a grant through Landcare to provide some relief to farmers, businesses and the general community who have done it tough during the drought.

KAPA came up with the idea of a Christmas Festival and Twilight Markets, to be held this Saturday 22 December at the Killarney Showgrounds.

Gates open at 4pm and the event will finish at 9pm.

The grant has enabled KAPA to give kids under 12 free hot dogs, free drinks, free ice cream, free lollies from Santa, free jumping castle and face painting. These are limited to one only, per child 12 years and under.

There will also be entertainment from Bruce Halter and the Killarney Choir and a barbecue by the Emu Vale Hall committee as well as various other food providers and coffee vendors.

In the Twilight Markets can be found various, local crafts people selling everything from plants, jewellery, homemade cakes, children’s clothes, beautiful Christmas summer fruit, bric a brac and lots more. There will be over 20 stalls.

The Southern Downs Regional Council will be there to give out advice to those who may need help due to the drought.
