Lions celebrate 41 years

LIONS Club of Inglewood has clocked up 41 years of service to the community.
On 4 March, 1972, the fledgling Lions Club of Inglewood was presented with its Charter which officially recognised the formation of the club.
Now 41 years later, the club is still going strong and continuing to make it’s presence felt in the Inglewood community.
At the club’s recent annual change-over dinner, the outgoing president, Stuart Parker, gave a comprehensive report of the year’s activities which were wide ranging and varied.
They included the hosting of the very successful Ultralight week-end in May, conducting the large annual Christmas Fun Day in December and the successful trialling early this year of markets – now being held monthly in the Lions/Apex Park.
The park is situated on the main Cunningham Highway at the eastern approach to the town and the club is confident the travelling public will be attracted into making a stop-over in Inglewood to attend the markets.
Mr Parker quoted an item from the latest Lions Journal which said a successful Lions Club is made up of a good team where everyone plays a role and members do their part not to receive praise and glory but to achieve a common goal.
“I definitely find this (a common goal) to be so in the Inglewood Club and I am humbled to be part of such a great team,” Mr Parker said.
