Now the mud has settled: workshops

By JONATHON HOWARD

THE short and long term impacts of flood disasters will be discussed over four workshops taking place across the Southern Downs.
Known as Now the Mud Has Settled, the workshops will offer residents the chance to reflect on how they and their neighbours are coping post disaster.
These sessions are offered free of charge to flood or disaster affected people and those within the community associated with them.
The workshops were made possible through sponsorship by the Southern Downs Regional Council.
The discussion will centre around various sessions: Emotional, psychological and physical trauma; Post traumatic stress, Self-help strategies, Gender differences of coping; and A look at depression and suicide issues.
The sessions will be presented by Lynn Stuart who has a Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Human Services, Family and is a qualified Justice of the Peace and marriage celebrant.
