Once completed, the highway will offer motorists a safer and smoother ride and be resilient to future extreme weather events.

Repairs on the southern approach of the Cunningham Highway to the O.O. Madsen Bridge in Warwick:
– These night-time asphalt repairs are scheduled for August 5-8, weather permitting.
Roadworks between the helipad at Clumber and Carter Road in Aratula:
– These works are expected to be completed by late 2013, site and weather conditions permitting.
– To balance the needs of road users and project timeframes, the contractor will have a maximum of three sites under traffic management at any one time.
Roadworks between Fassifern and Silverdale:
– These are close to completion and should be finished by the end of this month.
Roadworks are underway between Warrill View and Mutdapilly:
– These works, on five sections of the Cunningham Highway, will repair damaged embankments and the road surface as part of TMR’s program of flood reconstruction and planned maintenance works.
– From August, motorists can expect work taking place at two or more sites at any one time. TMR plans to complete these works by the end of 2013, weather permitting.
Maximum delays through these roadworks between the Gap and Mutdapilly are expected to be less than 15 minutes at each site.
Traffic controllers regularly monitor queue lengths to minimise travel delays.
Traffic management controls such as reduced speed limits and lane closures are in place for the safety of motorists and roadworkers.
TMR appreciates motorists’ patience while these works are carried out and encourages road users to plan their travel.
