Fire crews will carry out a controlled ‘hazard reduction burn’ in Warwick tomorrow morning, Thursday 11 May, in the vicinity of the Warwick Golf Course.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) spokesman told the Free Times residents need not be alarmed if they see smoke in the area tomorrow.
The burn will be carried out in bushland areas between Hawker and Horsman Road and along Rose Street, and in the Thornton and Ogilvie Road areas.
The burn will start around 10am and finish before 4pm.
Other agencies co-operating will include the Southern Downs Regional Council, the Rural Fire Service and Transport and Main Roads.
