New mall for shopping centre

Big moves: Robins Kitchen manager Symone Jones, Lowes assistant manager Kylie Doyle, Rose City centre manager Jason Gard, Fun Plus Electronics manager Gil Lee and Rose City marketing manager Louise de Lissa in the new mall.

The next phase of the redevelopment of Rose City Shoppingworld was unveiled this week with the opening of the centre’s new mall.
McConaghy Group Managing Director Robert McConaghy said the redevelopment at the shopping centre was making strong progress and Monday saw a group of stores open in their permanent, new positions.
“It is good news that we can now announce that a group of our retailers have unveiled their new stores,” Mr McConaghy said.
“These stores have taken on a new location with a brand new fit-out and they are excited to be one of the first openings in this redevelopment process.”
Centre Manager Jason Gard said some of these stores had previously been moved temporarily to accommodate construction in the area.
“Robins Kitchen moved from their original location back in the beginning of the redevelopment,” Mr Gard said.
“This store will see a bright, new layout and look with new stock lines to back it up.”
Other stores to open include Lowes and Fun Plus Electronics which have also moved across the mall and gained a modern, professional fit-out.
The Reject Shop will remain it its temporary location at the beginning of the mall until its new home has been finished.
Amcal will trade as John Duggan Chemist and will temporarily relocate from Monday 27 March next to The Reject Shop until its new store is finished.
Mr Gard said that when the sites for these temporary stores are completed there will be some new “exciting retailers moving in which will be a great asset to the centre’s mix”.
“The plan is to accommodate our current retailers in temporary locations like the pharmacy and The Reject Shop so that our customers do not miss out on these services, and then re-assign these tenancies to some new retailers which will enhance the centre’s offer,” he said.
“More changes and exciting moves will occur within the centre over the coming months.“
