Warwick’s Morgan Park motorsport and equestrian facility will not only be properly watered but also fully flushed by the end of the year, thanks to new State Government funding.
More than $2 million has been allocated under the ‘Works for Queensland’ program to supply untreated water from Connolly Dam to Morgan Park and to install a sewerage connection.
Also in the works are streetscape improvements for Killarney, Allora and Stanthorpe and local road upgrades.
In a further sign an early state election might be on the cards for Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk last week announced the $200 million ‘Works for Queensland’ program, part of a wider $1 billion initiative she said would “create jobs and deliver infrastructure outside the state’s south-east”.
“My government knows the importance of regional Queensland to the prosperity of our state,” the Premier said.
“By working with local councils, we can improve infrastructure and amenities for regional Queensland and create jobs in these communities for locals.”
The State Government has stipulated all projects must be completed by November 2017.
