THE popular Warwick Cowboys Rodeo is on tonight, Friday 7 October, at Father Ranger Oval in Warwick, once again capping off the local footy season.
Kids under 13 will have the chance to win themselves a new bike if they can find the lucky ball at half-time in the Southern Downs Ag sponsored rodeo.
Some 100 ping pong balls will be released in the rodeo arena in what will no doubt be a mad dash to find the one with the lucky number.
Nominations for the Warwick Hotel Open Bull Ride are now closed, with organiser Scott Keogh saying of the competitors there will be “20 of the best”.
“Two to watch in particular will be Matt Boland from Toowoomba and Jayden Simms from Kyogle,” Scott told the Free Times.
“They are all top class competitors but you certainly can’t go past those two boys.”
Nominations for the other rodeo events will be open until 6pm. Friday night.
The Ray Bunch Machinery Footballers Steer Ride is for players of all footy codes, with the JR Hughes Electrical Local Steer Ride for those who compete a little more than the footy players.
The Total Eden Warwick Junior Steer Ride is for juniors aged 13 to 17, while the Junior Poddy Ride is for ages 8 to 13 and the Pee Wee Poddy is for the under eights.
Admission to the event is $20 for adults, $15 concession and $8 for children aged five to 12. A family pass – two adults and two children – is available for $50. Gates open at 5pm for a 7pm rodeo start.
