Southern Free Times still growing – and still free

By Jeremy Sollars

THE Southern Free Times has moved to assure readers and advertisers we are alive and well and growing and remain committed to the Southern Downs, Granite Belt and South-West regions.
While there are major changes happening at other local media outlets, the Free Times remains committed to our publication schedule – which means nearly 14,000 copies of our newspaper will continue to hit households, businesses, farms and community locations across the region every Thursday, with a total readership of more than 22,000 people.
And we’re not just a free weekly publication, even though we’ll always stay that way.
We deliver breaking news daily on our website – which like our printed newspaper is free to all readers in the region to view, every day of the week – and we headline breaking stories on our Facebook page.
Our print distribution footprint remains huge – as well as the Warwick and Stanthorpe town areas we cover all points in between and beyond, including Tenterfield, Wallangarra, Dalveen, Amiens, Killarney, Allora, Karara, Leyburn, Inglewood, Texas and Bonshaw.
Our aim is for our print and online news coverage to complement each other – we believe printed newspapers have a very strong future and still deliver excellent value and reach for advertisers, while our online news service keeps our readers up to date each day with news as it happens.
We thank our readers and advertisers for their continued strong support and we’ll continue to be the voice and champion of our regions.
