WARWICK and Stanthorpe can expect fine and sunny conditions for the rest of the week following Monday’s downpours.
The Bureau of Meteorology says a ridge of high pressure over Central Australia will move east over southern Queensland during the week, bringing with it fine and dry conditions.
Daytime temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be in the low to mid-twenties and in the mid to high twenties Thursday and Friday.
Good falls of more than 50mm were recorded in many districts across the Southern Downs and Granite Belt during Sunday, with some roads remaining closed today while waters subside.
As of Tuesday morning the Queens Park weir in Warwick was overflowing and Park Road is closed.
The Southern Downs Regional Council advises other current road closures include the western end of Victoria Street and Canninghvale Road in Warwick, Backhouse Crossing at Killarney, Merivale Street at Allora, Doyles Road at Forest Springs and the Womina Willowvale Road.
