THIS year’s Apple and Grape Harvest Festival generated more than $10 million in economic activity for the Stanthorpe region, organisers say.
In a letter to the Southern Downs Regional Council to be tabled at the September meeting on Wednesday, festival president Greg Thouard said nearly 110,000 people attended this year’s 10-day event.
Of those nearly 80,000 were visitors whose economic impact had been estimated at $8.19m.
Events and attractions added to this year’s program included the SE Qld Busking Championships, That Dam Ride cycling event, Open Gardens, Piazza performances, Wine Master Classes and concert events.
The next Apple and Grape Harvest Festival will be held in March 2018.
