Good falls in the northern reaches

The weather bureau says the odds are even for 25mm to 50mm of rain over September in the Southern Downs and Granite Belt.

AREAS to the north and north-east of Warwick fared the best in the rainfall stakes over the weekend.
Spicers Peak up on the range recorded 40mm and other good falls were had at Goomburra and Allora after the heavens opened on Friday night and through into Saturday, causing a little havoc for junior football grand finals and other events in Warwick.
The region may be due for some more showers starting on Tuesday as a large high pressure system over the Tasman Sea continues to move slowly east, maintaining a ridge and moist onshore wind flow over eastern Queensland, the same system which brought us the wet over the weekend.
A surface trough is expected to move into southwestern Queensland in the early part of the week and the Bureau of Meteorology is tipping showers on Tuesday and Wednesday for the Warwick and Stanthorpe areas, and daytime temperatures in the low 20s.
Monday is expected to be mostly sunny in both centres with a top of 23 for Warwick and 21 for Stanthorpe.
