What a weekend!

Enjoying the markets were Wendy Graham and Anne Driver with Zarki the Dog.

THIS weekend promises to be lots of fun and all that jazz for the final weekend of this year’s Iconic Jumpers and Jazz in July festival.
Last weekend crowds were treated to the Gallery markets (pictures by Terry West attached) and cars and music and this weekend promises to be just as exciting.
Renowned international “Queen of Boogie” Jan Preston is set to “bring fire” to Jumpers and Jazz this year with her distinct voice and astonishing boogie on the keys resounding at Brysons Place on Friday and Saturday nights … definitely, a “book in early” for dinner and concert night.
Palmerin Street stays alive on Saturday with Warwick Credit Union’s “Stroll and Swing” featuring The Freud Squad, Mal Wood Band, Aperitif Jazz Ensemble and the famed Well Swung Daddies.
The Down Town Lounge is the place to be (outside Warwick’s historic Town Hall) and the entertainment is all free. Plenty of great food, and coffee to keep you going all day!
Also located on Palmerin Street will be the popular Suitcase Rummage market for lots of browsing and shopping surprises and the Sourced Regional Flavours market.
Sourced brings together the superb and eclectic local flavours of the region for you to “taste and see” … from vegetables to pastries to wine.
An added bonus is the opportunity to have an insightful chat with the growers about their produce.
Sourced organiser Amy Walker, otherwise known as “the Wife Creative”(check her on Facebook) invites festival-goers to “come and grab a Sourced show-bag/sample bag – a take-home treat for marketgoers full of stallholder goodies, some regional reading and plenty of inspiration to return to experience more of the Southern Downs region”.
Learn about wool and shearing from the Cullen family at the Sheep Shack also on Saturday in Palmerin Street. Father and son duo – Reg and Ian Cullen with the help of Ian’s daughter Tiffany, will demonstrate the art of shearing.
The Cullen Family from Karara, have been known shearing contractors all over Queensland for many years. Reg and Ian have been shearing for 100 years between them.
Kick back, wine and dine the afternoon away at the inaugural Party on Palmerin Street with special guest Jan Preston.
This new concept luncheon features a delicious three-course meal and there are still places available.
For just a gold coin donation, you can enjoy the “Sing and Swing at the Salvos” Saturday night.
Featuring Revelation Big Band, and the barbershop quartet Blindside, the fine talent and variety of music will keep the toes tapping and hands clapping for more. (Hot tip – be early – this was a packed event last year after the performers’ magnetic street performance through the day).
The festival highlights of live jazz are all yours for free at the Ergon Energy Picnic in the Park on Sunday.
Live music features all day from the Youth Stage in Leslie Park – a new locotion.
With the backdrop of the amazing Potter’s Craft market, plus foodies’ delights, local wines, coffee … bring your blanket and soak up the atmosphere.
Some like it quiet … so for something completely different; golfers can look forward to “getting away” on Saturday to experience the respite of Warwick Golf Club’s picturesque fairways and greens on Saturday.
Book in for timesheets and buggy hire and have some fun at the 18-hole medley single stableford.
