IT’S every cowgirl’s dream to visit the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, and Warwick’s very own Warwick Rodeo Queen Georgie Stower will be on her way in a few short weeks.
Cheyenne Frontier Days is an outdoor rodeo and western celebration held annually since 1897 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA.
Georgie will embark on a week-long journey where she will take place in meet and greets, grand entries and ‘flybys’ which include all rodeo queens galloping one after another past the crowd on a horse while waving in true rodeo queen form.
She will also get the opportunity to see some of the most famous headlining music bands live such as Florida Georgia Line.
Rodeo Queen Quest co-ordinator Kate Christensen said it was a fantastic opportunity for Georgie to build her international relationships in the rodeo world.
“We are hoping that by providing trips like these for our rodeo queens, this will make the position look more appealing for future Warwick Rodeo Queen contestants,” Kate said.
Cheyenne Frontier Days draws up to 200,000 people to the stands each and every year, making it one of the largest outdoor rodeos in the world.
“Rodeo queens from all over America and Canada travel to Cheyenne Frontier Days, so it will be great for Georgie to be able to meet other rodeo queens from all over the world and see how they do the quest in different countries,” she said.
