My Passion theme for exhibits

Interior by Cathy Holmes.

MEMBERS of the Warwick Artists Group have been working towards their latest exhibition at Warwick Art Gallery for many months.
With the inspirational theme, My Passion, the artists were encouraged to consider the things, places, animals or people that propel their imagination.
Thirty-three artists have work in the exhibition that was also a group-funded competition judged in five categories by well- respected artist and educator Sandy Pottinger who enjoyed the challenge of selecting the winners.
“In some cases, I thought I had a clear winner, and then another work showed me that I needed to look further,” Sandy said.
“In selecting the winning entries, I have considered the subject, its interpretation, the composition, the media used and how it has been handled. I have also looked for a sense of originality. I have been particularly taken with works that carry some depth of meaning rather than the merely decorative pieces.”
